Jennie of BLACKPINK Becomes First K-Pop Soloist to Earn Four RIAA Gold Certifications in the United States
BLACKPINK’s Jennie has etched another historic milestone in K-pop, officially becoming the first K-pop solo artist to secure four gold certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The RIAA confirmed on December 6 that Jennie’s recent collaboration “ExtraL” with American rapper Doechii has been certified Gold in the United States for exceeding 500,000 equivalent units.

This marks Jennie’s fourth RIAA-certified single, following “Solo” (2018), “Mantra” (2024), and “Spot!” with Zico (2024). The achievement places Jennie in an exclusive league, surpassing every other K-pop solo act—including PSY, whose “Gangnam Style” remains the genre’s only Diamond-certified single—and establishing her as the most RIAA-certified K-pop soloist in history.
In addition to the new certification, Jennie’s debut full-length solo album Ruby (released March 2025 under her own label ODD ATELIER in partnership with Columbia Records) was ranked No. 29 on Rolling Stone’s prestigious “The 100 Best Albums of 2025” list—the highest entry by any K-pop artist this year. Critics praised the record for its genre-blending production, introspective lyricism, and seamless fusion of hip-hop, R&B, and pop sensibilities.“Jennie has consistently pushed the boundaries of what a K-pop soloist can achieve on the global stage,” said Columbia Records executive Ron Perry in a statement.

“Four gold certifications as a solo artist, combined with critical acclaim for Ruby, underscore her influence and staying power in the American market. ”The 29-year-old artist, who made her solo debut in 2018 with the iconic single “Solo,” has seen her international profile soar throughout 2025. Her October release “Mantra” peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Global 200 and earned widespread praise for its empowering message and sleek production.
Meanwhile, “ExtraL” with Doechii—a high-energy track blending trap beats with infectious hooks—has spent 12 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and continues to dominate streaming platforms. Jennie’s latest feat adds to BLACKPINK’s already formidable legacy as the most decorated K-pop girl group in RIAA history, with the quartet collectively holding multiple platinum and gold certifications. However, Jennie now stands alone as the only member—and the only K-pop soloist period—with four individual gold certifications.
Fans celebrated the news across social media, with #Jennie4xGold and #Ruby29 trending worldwide within hours of the RIAA announcement. As 2025 draws to a close, Jennie shows no signs of slowing down.
Industry insiders report that a deluxe edition of Ruby featuring new collaborations is in the works for early 2026, coinciding with BLACKPINK’s highly anticipated full-group comeback now confirmed for January. With each release, Jennie continues to redefine the global reach of K-pop solo artists, cementing her status as one of the industry’s most influential figures.
